For many years, we have worked with our customers to ensure that access to core services and applications could be achieved in a simple, secure and cost-effective manner. One of the greatest challenges for us has been the need to do this via cumbersome and often complex WAN solutions. We have looked at several solutions to this problem and are delighted to announce that we have chosen to partner with Cato Networks to significantly simplify these processes for our customers.
So, what is so special about Cato and what is SASE?
Cato Networks provides enterprises with a converged SD-WAN and network security platform, delivered as a global cloud service, aligned with Gartner's Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) framework. The Cato Cloud connects all data centres, branches, mobile users, and cloud resources into an agile and secure global network. This service empowers our customers to connect, secure, and run the network themselves, along (if required) with support from the Datrix managed service.
Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) is a new enterprise networking technology category introduced by Gartner in 2019. SASE converges the functions of network and security point solutions into a unified, global cloud-native service. It is an architectural transformation of enterprise networking and security that enables IT to provide a holistic, agile and adaptable service to the digital business, no matter where they are, as such delivering transformational impact across multiple IT domains.
Increasingly, the Datrix solution architects are engaging with their peers across our customer base about how best to address the challenges caused by their legacy point solutions leads. This has led them into technical silos that are not only complex, inflexible and importantly costly to own and manage. This complexity has often led to failed outsourcing contact, which has led to the slowdown of IT and its response to these business needs. However, through Datrix working with our customers to deliver a SASE solution, this has allowed them to deliver a new networking and security platform that is identity-driven, cloud-native, globally distributed, and securely connects all edges (WAN, cloud, mobile, and IoT).
Cato’s cloud-native architecture converges SD-WAN, into a global private backbone, a full network security stack, and seamless support for cloud resources and mobile devices.
Customers easily connect physical locations, cloud resources, and mobile users to Cato Cloud, and IT teams immediately benefit from the agility of a unified network and security service managed through a single, self-service console.
Many of our customers face the same challenges when trying to align to Digital Transformation programmes as well as WAN transformation. Therefore, the application and services advancement which has occurred over recent years, are not supported by their legacy MPLS infrastructure and the early adopted SDWan solutions One of the biggest challenges is how to migrate from existing architectures, with minimal or no impact to services.
By transitioning to a Cato SASE environment from expensive, rigid, and capacity-constrained MPLS networks to a combination of high-capacity internet links and the Cato Cloud, we are seeing huge and often instant benefits to our customers. By empowering a truly agile/mobile workforce, we have seen a boost in usable capacity and improved resiliency. The Cato Cloud optimizes performance and maximizes the throughput to on-premises and cloud applications.
Datrix are planning to run a number of technical 1-2-1 sessions as well as group sessions during the autumn.
