Mark Taglietti, Head of ICT Service Delivery, explains how embracing mobility and transformational ICT has lead to improved patient care within the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
In an interview with Whitehall Media at the bi-annual Enterprise Mobility & Mobile Device Management Seminar, Mark Taglietti describes how UCLH have deployed Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) strategies, along with Clinical and Enterprise Applications, to drive productivity and increase efficiency within the Trust, delivering an improved patient experience and ultimately better patient care.
From an initial pilot in 2012, UCLH's mobility initiative has grown to encompass over 1,000 wirelessly connected devices, driven by the Apple iOS platform for an exceptional end user experience. The programme was so successful that further funding was secured for a campus-wide wireless network along with an in-house application development team.
Watch the video interview below to learn how user adoption and the right corporate culture helped bypass some of the challenges associated with mobility strategies, along with the importance of security and what the future holds for mobile devices within clinical environments.
